A Discussion & Dinner with Prospect Park Mayor Khairullah on: Inside Syria : Current Situation
On November 17, Drew University's Wataniyah: The Middle Eastern Student Association will be hosting Mayor of Prospect Park Mohamed Khairullah, New Jersey's first Arab-American Mayor, to talk about his humanitarian missions to Syria in the past two years.
Mayor Mohamed Khairullah, who left Syria as a child, is part of a larger community of Syrian-Americans in New Jersey that has rallied to help, either by raising funds or by putting political pressure on U.S. and international leaders to help oust Assad. Mayor Khairullah has been to Syria multiple times to help the refugees and the victims of brutal Assad regime. Mayor Khairullah is also an educator and is a high school administrator as well. He is a strong voice for a free and democratic Syria in the United States and around the world.
Dinner will be served and catered from a local Middle Eastern restaurant. There will be vegetarian options available!
While no one will be turned away at the door, we humbly ask for a $5.00 dollar suggested donation to provide humanitarian assistance to the beleaguered people of Syria.
Where: Crawford Hall at 7:00 pm!
