Forum Water Fountains

Could something please be done about the water fountains in the forum? Water barely oozes out of the two outside the upstairs weight room. Its just a pain to wait in line for water when you are trying to work out because the person in front of you practically has to suck the water out of the pipes. It is also quite unsanitary.

extremely unsanitary

Yes!

(File a work order at:

)

Okay, I have just done that, hopefully it will be fixed soon.

This bring up a point which I try to make to as many people as I can:

If you don't report a problem, then know one knows it has to be fixed.

It's a big campus, and while in an ideal world, the facilities employees that are in and around the buildings everyday could/should report this stuff, they don't always (ever?). But in the end this is where we all either work, go to school or live and as such we have some responsibilty to report issues when we see them.

If you notice something, file a workorder. If it still doesn't get fixed, then complain about it (and file another workorder).

I agree, Jason, about all of this, but it is quite remarkable how many little things that should be routine maintenance go unfixed without someone making a workorder.

For example - and I forgot to submit this one Friday, so my bad - there is soap (and very little at that) in only 1 of the 8 soap dispensers in the Forum men's locker-room showers. Does this really require me to report it?

Not to mention lights being out in public areas. The regular maintenance people don't notice?

Obviously you hire the people you can, but it does get frustrating.

Tell me more of this "regular maintenance" of which you speak.

At the last US/A meeting, the Facilities executive managment made it clear that they're not funded for preventative maintenance. So perhaps that's part of the issue for some of these things.

The soap, however, should be addressed by the normal janitorial service. Makes me wonder if they're missing that what else they're not doing in those showers. Of course, I just had my office trashcan emptied after a nearly 2 week span of it not being emptied.

I put a work request in a week ago and as of today around noon nothing had changed.

Partial success!

One of the fountains has been replaced and the new one has great pressure.
