Best Options for Off Campus Housing
Where do the off campus grad students (and/or Drew staff) generally live? I am coming this fall and I have been looking online at the towns on the train line between Madison and NYC. Are there any specific areas where grad students tend to flock? My partner and I are looking to share an apartment. Any advice?

From personal experience, if you want to live as closely as you can, i.e. madison then expect a studio apt. to be $800-$1000 and a one bed apartment $1200-$1600. However, in Chatham you can rent a whole cottage for $1,300.00!! Some parts of Morristown are cheap such as by the train station, but the crowd down there is not the best. Otherwise, apartments in Morristown are just as expensive as Madison. Drew has limited housing for professors, which is in the back past the trail leading to the ponds, etc. There are apartment complexes directly across from Drew's front lawn, but those are around the $1600 last time I checked. Dover is not a great area, yet there is a train station there and a line that goes directly to Madison. Rents are low there.

Any student who doesn't mind commuting (30 mins), and wants to live close to NYC - then I have a perfect apartment available in Hackensack. It's a 2 BR apartment, with a full finished walk up attic that can be used as a 3rd BR. 1 month rent in advance and a month and half security deposit required. Non-smoker a must. Rent is 1600/month. Tenant pays own utilities or can be adjusted as additional rent. You can call/text me at 551-265-5012 for more details.
