Internet connection outage
It looks like we're having some internet connection interruptions - the first seems to have occurred a bit before 1am on the 16th and lasted about 45 minutes, and there was another brief interruption shortly after 2am.
During the longer outage, we noticed the connectivity problem and went to campus to check on the problem. The connection had started working by the time we arrived to assess the situation.
There was a brief disruption shortly after 2am. At this point, I'm confident in saying that the problem is not with any of our equipment. We'll be following up with our provider in the morning to find out what happened. Given the weather, it's possible that something such as a downed cable or a power outage in a facility in the region was the cause.
Just as a followup -we heard back from Lightpath, and it was related to some ongoing upgrades they've been doing to their network. They didn't expect it to cause outages of this length, but apparently it did in this case.
