Amazon's Student program

Amazon is running a promotion where anyone with a .edu e-mail address can sign up for Amazon Student, which is basically a free version of Amazon Prime. The best benefit I've seen so far is that you get free 2 day shipping, and you can upgrade to next day for $3.99/item. I believe (although I'm not certain) that you can upgrade an existing account by submitting your Drew e-mail address.

You're right, you can upgrade from the regular account to the Student Prime account for no charge :) Its really a good deal.

Bear in mind, from looking at the program on Amazon, that the Amazon Prime membership is only free for one year. I'm assuming after that they will start charging the $79 per year fee for it.

Rian, you're correct- but they don't ask for a credit card number up front. So you don't have to worry about remembering to cancel it. Who knows, a year down the road they might decide to extend it :)

Very true, who knows what they might do. I would just be careful, especially if you have you credit card on file with Amazon already since they could probably just charge it there instead of asking for it again. I have a feeling they will just bug you in email to renew than try to just charge it.
