vWorkspace on Ubuntu

I'm trying to use the vWorkspace Java client on Ubuntu. When I try to start an app, the browser downloads a launchjava.aspx file. When I try to open the file, I get a dialog box saying "Could not read or parse the JNLP file." Details give me ParseException on getRootNode().
Any ideas what's going wrong and how to fix it?

By any chance are you running Ubuntu on a vm? And which version of Ubuntu is this?

I'm running Ubuntu on a Chromebook. It's version 11.0.

What browser you were using?

Also, open terminal and type in java -version
You may be using Ubuntu's default java, openjdk, which has been known to cause problems. If that's the case, just remove it via apt or synaptic and install either Sun Java 6 or Orace Java 7.
