Using mozilla off campus

So in the past, (a couple years ago) in order to access email off campus, I had to go to webaccess because the mozilla software wouldn't work unless I was connected to the network. A while ago, this changed, and I was happy to see that I could check and send mail through mozilla even being off campus. A couple weeks ago though, something happened and now while emails do pop up in Mozilla and I can read them, when I go to send messages, it always fails, and says something about failing to connect to the SMTP server. It might have something to do with my connection, but I don't understand why it was working until a couple weeks ago and suddenly stopped. Is there anything I can do about this? Will it work when I get back on campus?

An email that was sent out to talk about this
Scott Wood sent out an email about this change to the mail server on 6/2:

Due to a number of virus infected messages directed to Drew's internal mail server (email.drew.edu), we have made an access change to our e-mail server in order prevent further infected messages from being received. We are now blocking the ability to send mail through Drew's internal e-mail server on the standard port 25. For most people, this change will not be noticed as many internet service providers already block this access. However, if you are receiving error messages when you send e-mail, you need to make a simple configuration change to your e-mail client. The e-mail client that Drew supports is Mozilla Mail and the steps required to make this change are:

Open Mozilla Mail
Click on Edit -> Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings
Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) [found directly above the Add Account button]
Change Port from 25 to 2525
Click on OK

Many of you will have already made this change because most internet service providers block access to port 25 except to access their own mail servers.

Please note that this change does not under any circumstance affect the ability to send e-mail through Webaccess (http://webaccess.drew.edu).

That is likely the result of this change.

It won't affect you when you are on-campus, and you can follow the instructions in the above to fix it for you off-campus.

thanks so much, guys. Maybe I should make a habit of actually reading those tech emails...
