Default The White Flags: Suicide Prevention

Take note of the 1100 white flags lining many of the pathways across campus
The Painful Truth: 1100 college-age students die by suicide each year.

There are Warning Signs:
Ideation- Threatened or communicated (social media, text, verbal)
Substance Abuse- Excessive or increased
Indicated Purposeless- No reason for living
Anxiety- Agitation/insomnia
Trapped-Feeling there is no way out
Identified Hopelessness/Worthlessness
Withdrawing- From family, friends, society
Anger (uncontrolled)
Recklessness- Risky acts, unthinking
Mood Changes (including sudden improved)

Suicide is Preventable
