I took Social Ethics w/ Prof. Cole last Spring and loved it. The topics are really interesting, and there was a lot of great class discussion since some of the topics are controversial. We discussed medical ethics, environmental ethics, animal rights, gay rights, etc. I would highly recommend taking it.

Speech 1 is a course that teaches you the basics of public speaking. For example, you'll learn how to give an informative or persuasive speech and you'll get feedback from your classmates.

Social Ethics didn't have any papers. It was a decent amount of reading which we would we discuss in class, and then there were a few tests, a midterm, and a final.

I would hold off on taking Social Ethics until Professor Cole is teaching it. He's really awesome and, although the topics are interesting, he really makes the class worth your time.

Parasitology is an okay class. You learn about one or two parasites per week You will go through their life cycles, the effects they have on their hosts, and possible treatments or prevention. You will have to do two presentations on two parasites, and write short papers on the parasite that you will be learning about that week (due on that specific class day). There is also a final research paper. All in all, it's a laid back course.
