Default Technology Workshop registration reminder

Hello class of 2010,

Just a reminder: please complete the technology assessment and register for your technology workshops prior to your arrival on campus.

You can start at:
http://depts.drew.edu/its/stel/fyabout.php
for information about the workshops, and from there you can click the link to begin the assessment and registration.

All the best - we look forward to seeing you in just a few short days!

It basically gives the university an idea of what programs students know how to use (ie word, excel, powerpoint). And then you take a class or 2 on the program you don't know. It only takes a little time. Mostly like a tutorial. And I'll be one of the teachers! (i think)

Default Laura's right, and....

...all incoming first year students are required to take technology workshops, as part of the First Year Seminar program. You take the assessment, then register for the technology workshops. The assessment does give us a better idea about what y'all know, but also helps you register for workshops better suited to your comfort level with technology.

And yes, Laura may be your teacher. <G> We've got a whole crew working on this!

I'm not 100% sure, but they're only a class or two for each program. Wendy Sue can correct me if I'm wrong...

Default How many technology workshops?

There is one technology orientation on September 4th, then 3 workshops (one each week) starting September 5th. All the technology workshops will be complete by the end of September - so it is not a semester-long course.

Each workshop will last between 45 minutes to an hour.

Hope this helps,
