Default 2006/2007 Shows

Does anyone have any idea what shows the theater department is putting on this year? I'd love to know.

i actually asked this question earlier on the drew livejournal group! the response i got was:

-Trifles by Glaspell
-The Siren Song of Stephen J. Gould by Bettenbender
-Home Free! by Wilson
-Sisters by Vogelstein
-The Parable of John by CLA student Alex Barron
-Out at Sea by Slawomir Mrozek
-Iphigenia and Other Daughters by CLA Faculty Rosemary McLaughlin and others
-A new play by Jeremy Stoller (CLA Student)
-The Stonewater Rapture - Wright
-The spring and fall dance shows
-A show that has yet to be decided but is being directed by the Department Chair.

this is all in no particular order. some of this could have changed since i asked, but like you, i am a freshman and don't know all the in's and out's of the department yet!

anyone can audition (i.e.- you don't have to be a theatre student or an upperclassman) and the audition styles vary from show to show. for example, if it's a musical you'll have to sing, but for a one-act show, they may only require a cold reading.

Well, TOE (the coffeeshop on campus) has bands come in, so if you're interested, talk to them about playing sometime, and there are also open mike nights if people just want to show up with a guitar or something.
There are also bands that come to Drew once in a while, like for FAP (First Annual Picnic, in the spring) or randomly play concerts in the Forum.
And the a capella groups aren't done by the school, they're student-run. They do a bunch of shows each semester.
Also, for the final improv show last semester, your forummate Justin Giza opened.
