Default Unable to download certain files

When I attempt to view/use certain Internet files, the loading never ends. This is true of Google Books, Google Map directions, Google video, Amazon Book Preview, Facebook email, and probably others of which I am unaware.
I've tried downloading a new version of Mozilla, though without any luck. What can I do?

When you say you downloaded I new version of Mozilla, you mean Mozilla Firefox, right? Just making sure we're talking about the same exact product. You can never be too sure.

I've seen this behavior before if I have a lot of entries--or entries that point to drives that aren't there anymore like network drives or USB keys--in the Firefox download history. Try clearing the list and seeing if things improve.

Also try disabling Firefox plugins if you have any loaded, and then reenabling them one at a time.
