Default Question

I'm looking to Dual boot XP, which is a whole other problem to be dealt with, but this has to do with the Folder containing info found on the I: Drive, the User data Hard Drive. This folder is akin to the "My Documents" Folder in XP and contains App Data, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Favorites, Music, Pictures, and Videos.

If I move the Desktop Folder onto my C drive, everything on my desktop (aside from the computer icon) goes away. My question is if there is a way to set a different default location for Windows to look for in finding desktop icons.

The redirection to the I drive is stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\ You can see what was changed from %USERPROFILE% to the I drive. If you change that back, it'll look at the C drive instead.

Obviously, you are doing this at your own risk, and this is not supported by CNS.

Thanks for figuring that out

I had started perusing through the registries but only ever managed a way to remove the public folders from having any role in the desktop

Must be a slow day/week
