![]() I have a T400 with Vista. I've used the computer twice last week since break started -- once to access Starbucks' AT&T WiFi and once at home where there's no wifi. Both times were uneventful.
I tried turning the computer on again just now and using both DREW-AD\posner1 and STU-RPOSNER1\posner1 with the same password I used to get here (via Dad's desktop) I get nowhere. Since I got here, "rposner1" and the password's obviously valid. With DREW-AD\rposner1, it says: The User Profile Service service failed the login. User profile cannot be located. With STU-RPOSNER1\rposner1 (using "log in to this computer") it says: No domain controllers are available to service the authentication request. Any ideas, or do I have to drop by the computer emergency room when I'm near campus next week yet again? TIA.

![]() From the error message you are receiving, it sounds as if the laptop was removed from the domain or the network settings were compromised somehow. I will email you your Administrator login password, which would allow you to login using the Administrator account into the STU-RPOSNER1 location. If you drop by the desk next week, it should be an easy fix re-joining it to the domain.
Hope this helps!

![]() I dropped the computer off Jan 9th. They couldn't fix it while I waited so it's in the queue. :-(
