![]() Do any of you use blogs or blog systems such as LiveJournal or Blogspot? Do you have any particular preferences in a blog or blog software?

![]() As most people who know me would tell you, I'm a Livejournal evangelist. The community features, security options, and RSS syndication make it my favorite. While it's missing a number of great features some would consider key for a good blogging package (such as trackbacks), it does me fine.

what? really? it can't be. but anyway. I use blogger, and I like it. I just don't update much. Also, that's where I got my gmail from, because google offered gmail accounts to people that had blogger accounts that posted often enough, or something. So I got mine kinda early, I suppose. |

![]() Yeah, but LJ buddies hooked me up early on as well, so we're all stars here.
I still can't believe that the Acorn put a photo of me wearing an LJ shirt on the front cover last year. That's even crazier than their assertions that people talk about drug dealers at Drew in these forums.

![]() I cannot live without livejournal. Semagic specifically. I love semagic. I just wish it had a button for polls.
My current LJ icon is the phonetic transcription of my username, moufle, which is the french word for mitten. I have no life. |

I'm trying to get a feel for whether the community aspects would be a good thing if we used it for a departmental blog. I prefer LJ, too, since I tried blogger and was unimpressed by the ease of use and speed of updating, but I will be trying other things, for comparison sake.
