Default Spss

I'm attemting to install SPSS statistics software on my computer (It's a non-drew, vaio, running 64-bit vista home premium) When I insert the CD that came with my book, the only autoplay command is explore files. All that the disc contains is .sav files and others (which I assume require spss to run) There are no executables or anything of that nature. The CD was sealed into my brand new copy of the book, I have no idea what's going on and it's imperative I get this working asap. Can anyone help?

The cd that comes with the book are all the data files that you will need for the class, but they are not SPSS. You have to buy that separately. .sav files are the files that SPSS runs.

I believe you should be able to use SPSS with the VPC service located at http://vpc.drew.edu/.

VPC is for commuters who need to use SPSS off-campus, and will not be an adequate replacement for in-class work at this time.

The simplest solution is to use your Drew-issued laptop to install and run SPSS. If it's not working we can reimage it and get it working the same day (usually faster) at the CNS Helpdesk. That's why we required the laptop for people.
