![]() On the left side of my T400 there's (I think) a multi-card reader slot but the thing inside the slot doesn't seem to be the card holder. What accessory do I need to buy to use this? TIA.

![]() I just took a look at the T400. There's the express card slot up top, and then the multireader slot below. What kind of card are you trying to read?
The multireader slot supports (I think) MMC, SD, SDHC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, XD and XD Type H. If you're trying to read Compact Flash, you'd need to get an Express Card - CF adapter. Other formats, not sure what's available. |

![]() I have an SD slot and above that is a plastic slide-out frame with 5 rectangles cut out, but I don't see any electronics or contacts anywhere. I presumed the 5-slot tray was just a place holder or dummy which I had to replace with something.

Yup - that's an express card slot, it's the current version of a cardbus or pcmcia device slot. If you need to read a card type that isn't supported by the SD/MMC/XD/Memory Stick slot, you'd need to get either a standalone card reader, or a card reader that plugs into the express card slot. |
