Okay, I don't want to sound like a complete idiot, but when/how do we find out about our common reading?? Please let me know if I missed something or if you guys are as clueless as me. Thanks

Don't worry dear. I'm clueless too. My best guess would be that when we hand in our schedules for the classes we are going to take, then we would get the reading.

As far as I know, the Common Reading is simply one book that the entire incoming freshman class reads during the summer. I think there's usually an essay that we write before the year begins, and then during Orientation there are some discussions about the book. This is all stuff that I've read about on the Class of 2009 forum [https://community.drew.edu/forumdisplay.php?f=25] from last year (take a look at it, some of the posts are really helpful).

The title is Common Reading? I couldn't find the actual post for it on the Class of 2009 forum.

There are several threads in the 2009 forum discussing both last year's common reading book "The Kite Runner" and the associated essay.

Here are a few of them....

Default Common reading

Usually common reading assignments come out around early july due to the fact that they need to know who all is taking the english class. If you haven't heard about a common reading by mid july then just call up your admissions counselor and they can find out for you.

The Common Reading book will be sent to you with in the next couple of weeks. All first year students get a copy of the book, so don't worry about getting your own. Keep an eye out for Drew mail though!

I don't think the English class matters, as everyone reads the common reading, no matter what classes they are taking.
