I want to find out if there are any summer assignments for the FYS; I'd be really interested in doing them for any of my top choices.

Hahaha, I was browsing through CampusWeb again, and I saw that, and I was like ZOMG THIS THURSDAY! It should have been in flashing letters and marquee-style, because it's that exciting.

AHH fkdhbioxpcjhkdfljo!!!! I'm a little pissed cause I got my LAST choice. And I submitted it, like, immediately, so it's not because I delayed turning it in. First come first serve my ARRSSEE.

Oh yeah, it was the Home Separation and Coming of Age in Chinese Lit/Film one. I mean, yeah it's ok I chose it, but it wasn't my first choice.

I'm going to be a big baby about this and I don't care.

When you submitted the form does not factor into the First Year Seminar selection process. It is based upon a mathematical process that optimizes for the "best fit" between choices and available seats, based upon certain criteria.

The math department administers the process, and I don't know what weights they apply to first, second, third choice, etc. but the result that is produced puts something like over 90% of the first years in one of there top three choices. A First-come first-served technique actually produces a less optimal result, with a much lower percentage of the incoming class getting one of there top choices.

Amelie Goes to Hollywood- I guess I can't complain, it was my second choice! I really wish I could have been in both that and German Fairy Tales, but at least I got one of them.

I guess I'm just part of that lucky less than 10% then.

Amelie Goes to Hollywood!

I'm so psyched. I'm also really glad no one is in this room right now, because when I checked the site and I saw that, I made the most ridiculous "YESSS!" face.
