Default changing passwords

so i got the email saying that my password is expiring and i changed it asap, but i remembered last spring when i changed it, i restarted my computer and wouldn't let me log back in. so right away, i logged out of windows and tried to log in with the new pw and it didnt work, i still had to log into the computer with my old pw. but to get to this site, i had to use the new one

i never turn my computer off so i dont know how long i can possibly be logged in to the comp with the old password after changing it.

basically, my question is, when do new passwords go into effect for logging into windows?

I think the way it works is that the password for logging into the computer doesn't change until you connect it to the network. So, you can use your old password fine if you restart your computer, but you need to use the new one for email and this site, and anything that uses IChain. When you get back to Drew, and plug the computer into the network, and try to log on (using the "on campus" setting), the network will want the new password, and update your computer to use it. As long as you remember the old password until you get on campus, you'll be fine.

mmm excellent. Now I just have to hope the computer won't eat both my old and new passwords like it did last time. Going to CNS strikes fear in my heart, especially now after falling asleep in the lab while getting one of my keys put back on this summer.

Yup, the sleeping gas is a breakdown product of grape Jolly Ranchers. Those things don't have much of a half-life.

So is that why Betsy keeps on trying to make John and I take the grape jolly ranchers? I always thought it was because she thinks we really like grape flavored jolly ranchers.
